On December 9, 2011 the Topeka branches of Citizens Bank & Trust will become Equity Bank. These FAQ’s cover general information on how your accounts with Citizens Bank & Trust will be affected.
Account Changes
Your current Citizens Bank & Trust account(s) will be merged to a corresponding Equity Bank account. The table below details this account information.

I currently have a 50+ Free Checking with Interest account. Will I be charged any service charges on the Equity Gold Checking?
No, the monthly minimum balance requirement on the Equity Gold checking account will be waived for those customers that previously had the 50+ Free Checking account with Citizens Bank & Trust.

What can I do if I don’t like the type of account my current Citizens Bank & Trust account is being changed to?
You may choose at anytime to change the type of account assigned by visiting your local Topeka branch or by contacting us at 888-733-5041.

Will my account number change?
Yes, your account numbers will vary slightly. A branch number of 54, 55 or 56 will be added to the beginning of your account to represent the location where your account is currently assigned (typically this is the location where your account was originally opened). All account numbers will then be formatted to 10 (ten) digits in length. The table below provides examples of how your final account number is determined.

I have an automatic monthly transfer setup from my checking to savings. Will that continue?
Yes, all account to account automatic transfers will continue. The transfers will occur in the same amount and frequency as currently setup.

Can I continue to use my current supply of Citizens Bank & Trust checks and deposit slips?
If you ordered your checks from the Bank, you should receive new checks and deposit slips that say Equity Bank prior to December 12, 2011. If you do not receive your checks by December 12, 2011 please contact your local Topeka branch or you may call 888-733-5041 so we can research your order. If you ordered your checks from an outside company please contact your local Topeka branch or you may call us at 888-733-5041 to place a new order.

I do not want to order my checks and/or deposit slips from the Bank. What do I need to do when I place a re-order?
If you currently do not order your checks through the Bank, you will need to inform the company of your new routing number (101105354) and account number.

I am still using Columbian Bank checks. Do I need to place a new order?
Yes, if your checks still say Columbian Bank you will need to place a new order for checks at any Topeka branch or you may call us at 888-733-5041.

I currently have outstanding Citizens Bank & Trust or Columbian Bank checks. Will these be returned?
No, any outstanding Citizens Bank & Trust or Columbian Bank checks that you have written will be routed to Equity Bank and clear your account like normal.

Do I need to notify my employer of my new account number and routing number to continue to receive my direct deposit?
No, your current ACH items (direct deposits, automatic payments, etc) will be routed to Equity Bank and posted to your account like normal. Equity Bank will send a “Notice of Change” through the ACH system informing the originator of the change in the bank routing number and your new account number.

Do I need to notify companies that I have allowed to automatically debit my account?
Maybe. Your current ACH items (direct deposits, automatic payments, etc) will be routed to Equity Bank and posted to your account like normal. Equity Bank will send a “Notice of Change” through the ACH system informing the originator of the change in the bank routing number and your new account number. If the payment is setup using your Citizens Bank & Trust debit card number, then please contact the originator and provide your new Equity Bank debit card information.

Will I be able to continue to use my current Citizens Bank & Trust debit/ATM card?
No, your current Citizens Bank & Trust debit/ATM will be de-activated on December 9, 2011 at 2:00 pm. You will receive a new Equity Bank debit/ATM card prior to December 9, 2011 and you may begin using this card on December 12, 2011.

What do I do if I have not received my new Equity Bank debit/ATM card by December 12, 2011?
Please contact your local Topeka branch or you may call 888-733-5041 so we can research your order.

What can I do if I don’t like the PIN that has been assigned to my debit/ATM card?
If you do not like your new PIN, you can request a PIN change at anytime by contacting your local Topeka branch or you may call 888-733-5041.

I received my ATM card and the enclosure stated that I may activate the card by calling the number on the sticker. There is no sticker on the card.
We apologize for the inconsistency. Your ATM card arrives ready for your use since it is a PIN transaction only card. Further activation is not necessary. Debit cards (Mastercard logo) do have an activation sticker and can be activated by calling the number on the sticker 1-866-590-4793. While debit cards may be activated upon receipt, neither type of card may be used until December 12, 2011.

I currently have recurring payments debited from my account through my Citizens Bank & Trust debit card. Will these transfer to my new debit card?
No, recurring payments that you have set up using your Citizens Bank & Trust debit card will not transfer over to your new Equity Bank debit card. You will need to contact these companies and inform them of your new card number.

What are my daily limits on my consumer debit card?
You may withdraw up to $400 in cash on any one day using your card as an ATM card. You may buy up to $1,500 worth of goods or services in any one day through use of our Point of Sale service (PIN or signature based transactions). This gives you a total daily limit of $1,900.

What are my daily limits on my ATM card?
You may withdraw up to $400 in cash on any one day using your ATM card.

What are the daily limits on my business debit card?
Any individual you have authorized to have a business debit card on your business account may withdraw up to $500 in cash on any one day using the card as an ATM card. Authorized individuals can buy up to $4,000 worth of goods or services in any one day through use of our Point of Sale service (PIN or signature based transactions). This gives authorized individuals a total daily limit of $4,500.

I am a business owner and I do not want the high limits on my business debit cards. Can I change these amounts?
Yes, you can lower the cash and/or purchase daily limits assigned to each individual card at any time by contacting your local Topeka branch or you may call us at 888-733-5041.
Internet Banking and Bill Pay

Does Equity Bank offer Internet Banking?
Yes, Equity Bank does offer Internet Banking. If you are a current Internet Banking user with Citizens Bank & Trust you will automatically be enrolled in Internet Banking with Equity Bank. You will receive a new temporary User ID and Password in the mail prior to December 9, 2011.

Will I be able to change my User ID and Password that is assigned to me by Equity Bank?
Yes, you will be prompted to change your temporary User ID and Password the first time you sign into Internet Banking with Equity Bank on or after December 12, 2011.

I recently enrolled in Internet Banking with Citizens Bank & Trust. Will I receive a User ID and Password from Equity Bank?
If you enrolled on November 16, 2011 or later, please re-enroll with Equity Bank on or after December 12, 2011. A new User ID and Password will not be automatically sent to you.

I am currently signed up to receive e-statements through Internet Banking. Will this service continue?
Yes, if you are currently signed up to receive e-statements through Internet Banking you will continue to receive statements this way. Equity Bank will send you an email to the email address that is on file to alert you that your statement is ready to be viewed.

Will my account history and prior statements with Citizens Bank & Trust be converted over to Equity Bank’s Internet Banking?
No, your account history and statements prior to December 10, 2011 will not be converted over to Equity Bank’s Internet Banking.

How long will have I have access to my Citizens Bank & Trust Internet Banking account?
Your Citizens Bank & Trust Internet Banking account will be de-activated on December 9, 2011 at 4:00 pm.

I am a current bill pay user of Citizens Bank & Trust. Will my payee and payment information convert over to Equity Bank?
Yes, all payee and payment information will convert over to Equity Bank’s bill pay system. This will include all future and recurring payments you may have set up.
Certificate of Deposit and Individual Retirement Accounts

Will the interest rate or term on my certificate of deposit change?
No, the interest rate and term of any certificates of deposit opened at Citizens Bank & Trust will remain the same until maturity.

Will I continue to receive monthly statements on my certificate of deposit?
No, Equity Bank does not send out monthly or annual statements on certificates of deposit. You will receive a maturity notice prior to your CD maturing.

I currently receive my earnings paid to me by check or ACH. Will this continue?
Yes, if you currently receive your earnings by check or ACH you will continue to receive your earnings in the manner.

Will my IRA account history transfer over to Equity Bank?
Even though your IRA account is transferring over to Equity Bank, any activity that was posted to your IRA account prior to December 10, 2011 will not transfer over to Equity Bank. If you need to research prior account history contact your local Topeka branch or you may call us at 888-733-5041.

Do I need to take my annual required minimum distribution prior to December 9, 2011?
No, you have until December 30, 2011 (December 31, 2011 in not a business day) to take your annual required minimum distribution.

I currently receive automatic distributions from my IRA account. Will this continue?
Yes, all automatic distributions will continue as normal.
Overdraft Protection Loans

I received a letter in the mail saying that my overdraft protection loan is changing to the Equity Reserve Line of Credit. What do I need to do to close this account?
If your overdraft protection loan currently has a zero balance, you may close your account at any time.

Research Items

Do I need to contact Citizens Bank & Trust to perform research on my account for items prior to December 10, 2011?
You can continue to contact your local Topeka branch for any research items you need that occurred on or before December 9, 2011. Equity Bank will request your research items from Citizens Bank & Trust on your behalf.
Tax Information

Will I receive all my tax filing information from Equity Bank or Citizens Bank & Trust?
If you earned interest, paid interest on a mortgage loan, or conducted a reported IRA transaction(s) prior to December 9, 2011 you will receive the appropriate tax form from Citizens Bank & Trust. For any reportable transactions done after December 9, 2011 you will receive the appropriate tax form from Equity Bank.

What do I do if I don’t receive my tax form from Citizens Bank & Trust?
You can contact your local Topeka branch or you may call us at 888-733-5041 to request an additional copy of your tax form from Citizens Bank & Trust. The tax form will be mailed directly to you from Citizens Bank & Trust.
